NAIPE 2024: Experts Unite to Propel Nigeria’s Insurance and Pension Sectors Towards $1 Trillion Economy

The Nigerian Association of Insurance and Pension Editors (NAIPE) has announced the panelists for its upcoming 2024 national conference, set to focus on the theme “Towards A $1 Trillion Economy: Roles of Insurance and Pension Sectors.” The conference, which is the 9th in the series, will take place on October 8, 2024, at the Oriental Hotel in Lagos.

The panelists include industry leaders such as Tunde Mimiko, Managing Director/CEO of Sanlam Life Insurance Limited; Adeyemi Mayadenu, Executive Director, Technical, NEM Insurance Plc (General); Wale Okunrinboye, Chief Investment Officer, Access Pensions; Oluseye Olusoga, Managing Director/CEO of Parthian Partners Limited; and Oguche Agudah, CEO of the Pension Fund Operators Association of Nigeria (PenOp). These experts will provide insights on how the insurance and pension sectors can contribute to achieving the $1 trillion economy goal set by the current administration by 2026.

Fola Daniel, former Commissioner for Insurance and CEO of FBS Reinsurance Limited, will chair the event, while Dr. Afolabi Olowookere, Managing Director and Chief Economist at Analysts Data Services and Resources, will deliver the keynote address. Special guests include the newly appointed Commissioner for Insurance, Olusegun Omosehin, and the Director-General of the National Pension Commission (PenCom), Mrs. Omolola Bridget Oloworaran.

The conference is expected to attract over 250 stakeholders from the insurance, pension, finance, and private sectors. The NAIPE Chairperson, Mrs. Nkechi Naeche-Esezobor, emphasized that the theme was chosen to highlight the critical roles that the insurance and pension industries must play in supporting Nigeria’s economic growth and ensuring their relevance in the nation’s evolving economic landscape.
