Industry experts, both active and retired, facilitated the sessions, providing participants with insights drawn from their wealth of experience.

PenOp’s CEO, Oguche Agudah, highlighted the importance of the program, noting that while the industry is eager to draw on participants’ experiences from other sectors, it is equally important for them to understand the history and ethos of the pension industry.

Adaobi Okoye, PenOp’s Head of People and Training, emphasized the academy’s goal of deepening participants’ understanding of the complexities of the sector. She introduced the facilitators, who delivered dynamic and engaging content, aimed at fostering professional growth and practical application.

The four-day program covered key topics such as Pension Fund Investment Strategies & Risk Management, Contributions, Benefits, and Data Management, Compliance and Fraud Awareness, and Customer Service & Ethical Leadership. Participants engaged in interactive discussions, case studies, and real-life scenarios to enhance their understanding of these critical areas.

A total of 41 participants completed the program and were awarded certifications, signifying their preparedness to contribute effectively to the pension industry. The Induction Academy is expected to become an ongoing initiative, providing continuous training for new entrants to the industry.
