The Corporate Affairs Managers Committee of the Nigerian Insurers Association (CAMCONIA) is set to hold its annual retreat from August 22 to 24, 2024, in Abeokuta, Ogun State. Themed “Leading the Narrative: Shaping the Future of Our Industry,” the retreat aims to mark a new chapter for the group, bringing together top experts to discuss key industry issues.

CAMCONIA, an elite network of Brand, Marketing, and Corporate Communications professionals in the Nigerian insurance sector, has invited a distinguished panel of facilitators to lead the discussions. The lineup includes Lara Yeku, a Performance Coach and HR Expert from Flour Mills of Nigeria; Tope Adaramola, a Public Speaker and PR professional from the Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers (NCRIB); and Dr. Lekan Fadolapo, Director General of the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON).

Segun Bankole, Chairman of CAMCONIA and Head of Corporate Communications at Sovereign Trust Insurance, expressed enthusiasm about the retreat, emphasizing its role in countering negative narratives about the insurance industry. He stated, “It is time to tell the right stories—stories of protection, trust, hope, and belief in a better future.”

The retreat will feature a range of activities, including excursions to Olumo Rock and the Adire Market, aerobics sessions, and a black-tie Gala and Awards Night. The Director General of the Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA), Mrs. Adebola Odukale, encouraged participants to develop a lasting roadmap for enhancing the industry’s reputation and making it a leading financial institution in the country.
