The Governing Board of the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) has announced the promotion of Rasaaq Salami to the position of Director, Human Resources & Administration, alongside four other senior staff members, following a promotion exercise conducted on March 27, 2024.
In a statement released by NAICOM, the board highlighted the promotion of the following individuals to the grade of Director:
- Ajibola Bankole – Director, Inspectorate
- Ahmad Ibrahim Adamu – Director, Innovation & Regulation
- Dr. Talmiz Usman – Director, Legal, Enforcement & Market Development
- Kamaludeen Barde – Director, Finance & Accounts
The board also approved an updated organizational structure aimed at enhancing NAICOM’s operational efficiency, effectiveness, and adaptability. This restructuring aligns the commission’s organizational setup with its strategic goals, facilitating executive management in achieving its regulatory mandate.
The newly established directorates under the updated structure include Inspectorate; Supervision; Market Conduct & Complaint Bureau; Innovation and Regulation; Legal, Enforcement & Market Development; Human Resources & Administration; Finance & Accounts; and Technology, Strategy & Research.
These changes underscore NAICOM’s commitment to robust governance and operational excellence within Nigeria’s insurance regulatory landscape, positioning the commission to effectively address industry challenges and opportunities in alignment with national economic objectives.
