PenOp Elects FCMB Pension MD Christopher Bajowa as New President

The Pension Fund Operators Association of Nigeria (PenOp) has elected Christopher Bajowa, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of FCMB Pension Limited, as its new President. Bajowa takes over from the retiring Umar Mairami, the Managing Director and CEO of Premium Pensions, and will serve until March 2026.

Bajowa’s election was unanimous among his peers. Upon accepting the role, he committed to upholding the ideals of the pension industry and prioritizing Retirement Savings Account (RSA) holders. He also vowed to continue advancing the sector’s contributions to Nigeria’s economy.

Expressing gratitude for the trust placed in him, Bajowa assured that he would maintain the high standards expected in the position. PenOp CEO, Oguche Agudah, highlighted that the seamless transition reflects the association’s strong governance and leadership, ensuring the pension industry’s continued positive impact on the country.

As the pension industry marks its 20th anniversary, its influence on Nigeria’s fiscal management, equity markets, and infrastructure development is evident. Agudah noted that the sector is poised for further growth in the coming years.
